Current Status:

The Town submitted a Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP) grant application in the amount of $1,478,400 to support design and construction improvements to the Heritage Way Trail at Cove Park.

The proposed project includes improvements to approximately 2,900 linear feet of existing trail, as well as reconstruction of the Solomon Welles House driveway and gravel parking lot.

The Town is also awaiting a decision on a Connecticut DEEP Recreational Trails Program grant request of $560,000, with a required $140,000 (20%) local match. Parks and Recreation has submitted the match as a CIP project.
